Dermatitis digititis ELISA kit

BioLisa® kit Bovine Digital Dermatitis Ab

BIOLK015

Number of reactions per kit

Description

The Digitised Dermatitis ELISA kit is an indirect single-step ELISA test for the detection of antibodies to Treponema phagedenis in bovine tank milk samples. This ELISA test is used to diagnose Digitis Dermatitis or Mortellaro's disease.

Kit ELISA Dermatite digitée developed following French standards U47-310 and U47-019 (AFNOR)

Ready-to-use, color-coded reagents for fast, easy differentiation

Sensitive and specific ELISA test for Treponema phagedenis exposure in cattle

Short incubation protocol possible

To improve the monitoring of our results over time, we suggest the use of a ready-to-use low-positive sample (MRI, Matériel de Référence Interne). This makes it possible to monitor the reliability of the test using a control graph. It is recommended to use it for each test.

Matrices: Sample of tank milk (milk from large mixtures) in cattle

Used to diagnose Digitis Dermatitis in dairy herds, this test makes it possible to monitor and track the disease's prevalence and thus adapt sanitary measures for its management.

About digitis dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease)

Dermatitis digitata, also known as interdigital dermatitis, is an infectious foot disease of cattle, caused mainly by bacteria of the genus Treponema. These bacteria, notably Treponema medium and Treponema phagedenis, are the main pathogens associated with this disease.

Symptoms: digitis dermatitis is characterized by inflammatory lesions between the hooves of cattle. These lesions may include redness, swelling, ulceration, purulent discharge, and occasionally areas of tissue necrosis. Affected cattle may limp and show signs of pain and discomfort when walking.

Propagation: the disease generally spreads in environments where hygiene conditions are inadequate. Bacteria of the Treponema genus are often present in soil and mud, and infection can occur when cattle come into contact with contaminated surfaces.

Risk factors: several factors can contribute to the development of digitis dermatitis in cattle, including damp and dirty environmental conditions, the presence of wounds or abrasions in the feet, stress, nutritional deficiencies, and the presence of other pathogens in the environment.

Diagnosis & prevention of Dermatitis digitorum

Diagnosis of digitis dermatitis is usually based on clinical observation of characteristic lesions between the hooves of cattle. In some cases, tissue samples may be taken for microbiological analysis to specifically identify bacteria of the Treponema genus. Serological analysis of tannin milk can correlate with the prevalence of this disease in a dairy herd. The ELISA kit for Treponema dermatitis developed by BioSellal offers a reliable and accurate solution for diagnosing this disease, enabling veterinarians and breeders to take proactive measures to control it and preserve herd health, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of these measures over time.

To ensure the integrity and efficiency of your kits, follow these storage recommendations:

Real-time PCR kits:

On receipt: Store kits at a temperature ≤ -16°C. This preserves the quality and performance of the kit components.

ELISA kits:

On receipt: Store components at 5 ± 3°C to maintain efficacy. The concentrated wash solution can be stored at room temperature, i.e. 21 ± 4°C.

By respecting these storage conditions, you ensure the reliability and optimum performance of your kits for accurate and consistent results.

  • The shelf life of a PCR kit for the detection of RNA pathogens (viruses) is 12 months.

  • The shelf-life of a PCR kit for the detection of DNA pathogens (viruses, bacteria, parasites) is 18 months.

  • The shelf-life of an ELISA kit is 15 or 18 months.

At BioSellal, we are constantly seeking to improve our products. We regularly carry out stability studies to extend expiration dates, guaranteeing that our kits will always perform better and last longer.
