BioLisa® kit Influenza A blocking Ab

BIOLK017

Number of reactions per kit

Description

The Influenza A ELISA kit is a monocup ELISA for the detection of antibodies to the Influenza A virus nucleoprotein in individual avian, swine, and equine serum samples. This ELISA test is used to diagnose Avian Influenza. It is validated by the French National Reference Laboratory for Avian Influenza (ANSES, Ploufragan-Plouzané-Niort) on avian serums.

Influenza A ELISA kit developed following French standards U47-310 and U47-019 (AFNOR) and validated by the French LNR Avian Influenza (ANSES, Ploufragan-Plouzané-Niort) on avian serums.

Ready-to-use and colored reagents for fast, easy distinction

Highly sensitive and specific Influenza A competition ELISA test for detecting exposure of avian, swine, and equine species to Influenza A Virus

Short incubation protocol

Able to detect the passage of contamination after vaccination (DIVA)

Influenza A ELISA kit applicable to many avian species, including chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese

To improve the monitoring of your results over time, we suggest the use of a ready-to-use low-positive sample (MRI, Internal Reference Material, BioLisa® MRI Serum Influenza A (Avian), ref. ESTINF001). This sample allows you to ensure the reliability of the test using a control card. It is recommended to use it for each test.

About Influenza A

Caused by type A Influenza viruses, Influenza A is a viral disease that mainly infects birds (domestic or wild), but can also infect other mammals (such as pigs, equines, etc.). It can present different subtypes such as H5N1, H7N9, H9N2, some more virulent than others. Internationally regulated, avian influenza is a highly contagious disease, generally asymptomatic in wild birds, but capable of causing extremely high mortality in poultry farms.

Diagnosis & prevention of Influenza A

Early and accurate diagnosis of Avian Influenza is essential to control its spread and prevent economic losses in the poultry, swine and equine industries. Antibody detection tests, such as the Influenza A ELISA kit developed by BioSellal, offer a sensitive and specific method for identifying the presence of Influenza A virus in avian, swine and equine species. This rapid diagnostic solution enables animal health professionals to take swift action to contain the disease and protect animal and human health.

Vaccination: vaccination of ducks against avian influenza in France is a preventive measure often implemented as part of bird health management, particularly in regions where avian influenza is prevalent or presents a high risk of spread.

Reasons for vaccination:Vaccination of ducks is primarily aimed at reducing the prevalence of avian influenza in avian populations, limiting transmission of the virus between birds and protecting the health of farm flocks. Ducks, particularly Muscovy ducks, are often natural reservoirs of the avian flu virus, and can spread the disease without showing any obvious symptoms. Vaccination can help reduce this spread.

Types of vaccine: Avian flu vaccines used in ducks can vary according to the viral strain prevalent in the region and the recommendations of health authorities. Vaccines may be inactivated (killed) or live attenuated, and their composition may vary according to the viral strains targeted and their presumed efficacy.

Vaccine administration: duck vaccination is generally administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously, depending on the type of vaccine and the manufacturer's recommendations. Vaccinations can be carried out at different stages of duck development, depending on specific guidelines provided by veterinarians and health authorities.

➜ Monitoring and compliance: duck vaccination against avian influenza is often closely monitored by health authorities and animal health professionals to ensure compliance with vaccination standards and evaluate the effectiveness of vaccination programs. Farmers are required to keep accurate records of vaccinations carried out, and to cooperate with inspections and epidemiological investigations carried out by health authorities.

To ensure the integrity and efficiency of your kits, follow these storage recommendations:

Real-time PCR kits:

On receipt: Store kits at a temperature ≤ -16°C. This preserves the quality and performance of the kit components.

ELISA kits:

On receipt: Store components at 5 ± 3°C to maintain efficacy. The concentrated wash solution can be stored at room temperature, i.e. 21 ± 4°C.

By respecting these storage conditions, you ensure the reliability and optimum performance of your kits for accurate and consistent results.

  • The shelf life of a PCR kit for the detection of RNA pathogens (viruses) is 12 months.

  • The shelf-life of a PCR kit for the detection of DNA pathogens (viruses, bacteria, parasites) is 18 months.

  • The shelf-life of an ELISA kit is 15 or 18 months.
